Swiss police cant say if Irishman was stabbed accidentally or murdered

first_imgAN AUTOPSY REPORT on an Irish man who died after being stabbed with a butcher knife in Switzerland cannot confirm if it was murder or just an accident.Patrick Broderick, a recruitment executive from County Cork, died after he was stabbed between the neck and shoulder in his apartment in Neuchâtel on August 31.Tragic accident or murderPolice have not been able to confirm if it was a tragic accident or murder.A woman, who is believed to be his girlfriend, was in the apartment at the understands that the woman said an accident occurred when he was showing her something with the knife.Speaking to today, the prosecuting attorney Nicolas Feuz said: The autopsy report was carried out on Mr Broderick, but was inconclusive. The report stated that there are two possibilities – either it was murder or an accident.He said they were awaiting further forensic and scientific tests that they hope will give final confirmation as to the cause of death. “We don’t have a definitive answer as of yet,” said Mr Feuz.He said they did not think that it was suicide.According to Mr Broderick’s LinkedIn page he attended secondary school in Rockwell College in County Tipperary. He went to college in Thames Valley University London and worked in the UK for five years.Mr. Broderick, a father of three, was working in Switzerland with a company called SpenglerFox.
