Hunters name team for Kokopo clash

first_imgThe SP PNG Hunters have named their team for the Round 11 clash against Wynnum Manly Seagulls at Kalabond, Kokopo.Coach Michael Marum is set to use a new prop pairing of Esau Siune and Joe Bruno following the standing down of Gonzela Urakusie. Also, Timothy Lomai sits out the last game of his two-match suspension.Urakusie has not been considered for selection as he has been stood down indefinitely until the club completes its internal investigation into an incident that occurred recently in Goroka.David Loko has also not been considered for selection as he has been stood down and heavily fined for a breach in the club’s code of conduct.Lomai’s suspension has opened the door for hard-running Willie Minoga to get his second game in the starting line-up.Minoga has been used effectively off the bench since the Hunters made their debut in the Intrust Super Cup two months ago but got his first run in the starting side as prop against Burleigh Bears two weeks ago on April 25.The backs remain unchanged with Marum expecting big games from the players who have been kept out of the squad due to the good form of those picked ahead of them.Young Edward Goma, who made his debut against Burleigh in the ANZAC game when the Hunters fought back to just miss out on a win, has been named in the side.Another youngster Stanton Albert, 19 has been named as the 19th man and bides his time in case Marum calls on his services due to injury between now and Saturday.The team is: 1 Adex Wera, 2 Garry Lo, 3 Thompson Teteh, 4 Albert Patak, 5 George Benson, 6 Israel Eliab©, 7 Roger Laka, 8 Joe Bruno, 9 Wartovo Puara, 10 Esau Siune, 11 Willie Minoga, 12 Sebastian Pandia, 13 Dion Aiye, Interchange: 14 Noel Zeming, 15 Lawrence Tu’u, 16 Edward Goma, 17 Adam Korave, 18 Tiger Emery, 19 Stanton Albert.last_img
